What is lion's mane?
Lion's mane (Hericium erinaceus) is a white mushroom with long cascading spines that grows on hardwood trees. Buddhist monks traditionally drank it as an infusion to support concentration during meditation. It is now the most popular mushroom in the natural nootropics family.
What tradition says
- Traditionally associated with memory and learning;
- a companion for focus and intellectual work;
- appreciated by students and creatives for mental clarity.
Dosage and use
The extract is taken as drops diluted in a glass of water, 1 to 2 times a day, preferably in the morning or before a work session. A course of at least 3 weeks for a background effect. See the label for the precise dosage.
What to combine it with?
For a complete "focus" profile, lion's mane pairs well with bacopa and gotu kola, the two green nootropics of the range.
Precautions
Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women or children without medical advice. Caution if you are allergic to mushrooms. Food supplement: not a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
