Tulsi (holy basil)

The sacred one: India's revered basil, traditionally associated with serenity and everyday balance.

Tulsi (holy basil)

What is tulsi?

Tulsi (Ocimum tenuiflorum), or holy basil, is probably the most revered plant in India: it is grown in front of homes and temples, where it is considered an embodiment of the goddess Lakshmi. In Ayurveda it is nicknamed "the incomparable one" and used daily, most often as an infusion.

What tradition says

  • The serenity plant: traditionally used to approach busy days with more calm;
  • traditional support for respiratory comfort;
  • help with the body's general balance, as a gentle daily companion.

Unlike root adaptogens that need earning, tulsi is a gentle, accessible adaptogen, perfect for discovering the family.
