Eleuthero

Siberian ginseng: the adaptogen of athletes and harsh winters, gentler than Panax ginseng.

Eleuthero

What is eleuthero?

Eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus) is a thorny shrub from the forests of Siberia and northern China, whose root is used. It is THE plant on which Russian researchers forged the concept of the adaptogen in the 1950s: it was studied extensively to support Soviet cosmonauts and athletes.

What tradition says

  • Traditionally used for endurance and physical resistance;
  • a companion for demanding periods: training, exams, harsh winters;
  • a gentler, more progressive alternative to Panax ginseng.

Dosage and use

The extract is taken as drops diluted in a glass of water, in the morning or before exercise, as a course of at least 3 weeks. Avoid taking it in the evening. See the label for the precise dosage.

Eleuthero or red ginseng?

Red ginseng is more tonic and "warmer"; eleuthero is gentler and better suited to a first course or regular background use. During sports preparation, many prefer eleuthero over the long term.

Precautions

Not recommended for pregnant or breastfeeding women, children, or in case of high blood pressure without medical advice. Food supplement: not a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle.
